H -- EXPERT AND CONSULTANT SERVICES - POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT This is a Sources Sought Synopsis. The B-1B System Support Manager (SSM) is seeking a qualified contractor to serve as the Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) contractor for the Block D Software (S/W) development efforts. Block D consists of modifications to the Avionics Operational Flight S/W, Central Integrated Test System S/W, Offensive Radar Subsystem S/W, Electrical Multiplex System S/W, Preprocessor Flight S/W and the Fuel Center of Gravity Management System (FCGMS) S/W. These modifications are to increase the conventional capabilities of the bomber and to perform routine S/W maintenance. In addition, modifications for Global Positioning System (GPS), communications upgrade, and carriage for Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) are planned as part of the Block D effort. The IV&V contractor is responsible to evaluate and provide recommendations on each of the Block D S/W components design approach, methodologies, documentation (Contract Data Requirements Lists), test requirements, test results, and perform additional interface/system level testing in order to minimize the risk of delivering defective software to the field. The contractor is also responsible to ensure the Block D products have been integrated and have passed integration tests prior to the transition from the laboratory to flight test. The contractor is required to submit written reports on their evaluations and recommendations.
