Department of Agriculture intends to issue a sole source contract with
Schlafhorst, P.O. Box 240828, Charlotte, NC 28241 for the purchase and
installation of a 24 rotor spinning machine with trade-in of a Autocoro
24-rotor machine equipped with SE-9 spin boxes. The new machine is to
be delivered to, as well as pick up of the trade-in, at the USDA, ARS,
Southern Regional Research Center, New Orleans, LA. The instrument
will be used to permit utilization of cotton in core-spun applications
at higher rotor speeds than currently possible. All interested parties
may express their interest and ability to meet the requirement through
submission of clear and convincing documentation on their product to
the contracting officer within 15 days after the date of this notice.
An IFB will be issued on or about March 1, 1995. These dates are
tentative and will be specified in the IFB package. All requests must
be submitted in writing or faxed to (601) 686-5373. No calls will be
