HARRINGTON, CONTRACT SPECIALIST, (508) 651-4026 U.S. Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center is conducting a Market Survey to identify firms with the capability of manufacturing waste management equipment. The desired equipment shall be capable of safely and effectively reducing ration related wastes generated by military feeding operations conducted in a field type environment. The units must be capable of processing paper, fiberboard, plastics, messgear, disposable, and miscellaneous field feeding ration wastes. Units that can reduce light metal products, such as number 10 cans, and empty metal tray packs, together or separate from the ration packaging waste will also be considered. The units must be light weight, transportable, compact or be capable of being assembled and disassembled. The desired units should reduce waste by pulping, shredding, compacting or other innovative means. Minimal electric sources are available in the field environment and they range from 120 volt to 208/240 volts Alternating Current 12/24/28 volts direct current for characteristics. Manual operation or other alternatives may be proposed by firms responding to this Market Survey.
