Department of Education, Office of the UnderSecretary Planning & Evaluation Services and Office of Post Secondary Education Division intends to award a 60 month contract to assess the impact of the School To Work Initiative on Students, Secondary Schools, Postsecondary Institutions, and Employers. The study will examine all key components of the system and indentify best strategies to feed back the successive waves of implementation of high quality programs. The evaluation will address several main issues: 1) state and local building; 2) intergration of School To Work Opportunities Act and Goals 2000; 3) academic and occupational standards: 4) employer involvement; 5) student outcomes; 6) program services, quality and participation; and 7) consistency with postsecondary policies and programs. These issues will be addressed through several different methods of data collection and analysis. Anticipated issue date is February 28, 1995, the closing date is April 17, 1995.
