COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 16,1995 PSA#1285INTERNATIONAL SAFEGUARDS PROJECT OFFICE: QUALIFIED VENDOR LIST Contact:
Lester G. Epel. International Safeguards Project Office, International
Projects Division, Brookhaven National Laboratory. ISPO provides
technical management of the U. S. Program of Technical Assistance to
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Safeguards (POTAS). POTAS is
the main vehicle for provision of U. S. technology and expertise to
assist the IAEA Department of Safeguards in its mandate to assure the
world community that nuclear materials placed under safeguards remain
in peaceful use. Accordingly, ISPO has occasion to solicit proposals
from private vendors to supply goods and services to fulfill IAEA needs
and is interested in compiling a listing of qualified vendors to meet
these needs. Responding vendors should have experience in international
and/or domestic safeguards or regulatory compliance; design;
construction, and/or operations of nuclear facilities; technical
documentation; and one or more of the technical areas listed below. In
addition, vendors must be U. S. companies. ISPO seeks sources of
technology and expertise in the following technical areas: 1) training,
including traditional and computer-based, 2) computer software and
hardware, 3) preparation of procedures, 4) tamper-proofing techniques,
5) facility inspection, 6) inventory and design verification, 7)
Non-Destructive Assay, 8) environmental monitoring (sampling and
analytical), 9) large scale information handling, and 10) containment
and video surveillance technology. Expressions of interest should
identify areas of expertise and include a summary of experience,
references and letters of recommendation. Send packages to: Lester G.
