COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 17,1995 PSA#1286ASC/SMKLY, 1895 Fifth Street, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433-7200 16 -- COATING TECHNOLOGY/COATING TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION POC Lisa
Adams, Contracting Officer, (513) 255-5107. COATING TECHNOLOGY
INTEGRATION OFFICE. POC Ms Lisa M. Adams, Contracting Officer,
513-255-5107, Aeronautical Systems Center, Subsystems System Program
Office, Wright-Patterson AFB OH. The USAF is developing a list of
potential sources of off-the-shelf formulations of superior,
state-of-the-art paints and coatings for use on aerospace structural
materials and operational USAF aircraft. The Materials Directorate,
Wright Laboratory is interested in topcoat and corrosion inhibiting
primer coatings which could be successfully applied to composites,
ferrous alloys, titanium, and aluminum alloys in the 2000 and 7000
series. The USAF intends to evolve new coating performance requirements
and procurement specifications based on the demonstrated results of
testing these superior materials. To validate this performance
capability, vendors may be requested at some future date to provide, at
no-cost to the government, samples of their best coatings which they
feel will satisfy the intended use. Provided coatings would be
subjected to military and commercial test methods to simulate USAF
operational environments. Some important properties of the desired
superior coatings are: environmental compliance, excellent
weatherability, excellent protection against corrosion, and good
mechanical properties. Testing of the samples would be accomplished
under the control of Wright Laboratory's, Materials Directorate.
Parties who are interested in submitting samples or technical data
should identify themselves to the Contracting Officer, Ms Lisa M.
