030395 POC Naomi Kaplan, Contract Specialist or Stephanie Allen,
Contracting Officer/(908)532-5454. This is a market survey to locate
additional sources for the AN/PAQ-4C Infrared Aiming Light (IAL)
System, NSN 58855-01-398-4315, for a potential quantity of 22,534 each,
delivery to begin in January 1996 at a rate of 1000 to 1500 per month.
There is a possibility the requirement will be classified as a Small
Business Set Aside. The IAL system consists of an IAL assembly, a
remote electrical switch with cable hangers, a M16A1/A2 mounting
bracket, bracket adapters, an operator's manual, a carrying bag and a
shipping & storage case. The IAL assembly projects an eye safe infrared
laser beam that can be detected with AN/PVS-5() and AN/PVS-7() Night
Vision Goggles (NVG) but not by the unaided eye. The IAL assembly
mounts on various weapons (M16A1, M16A2, M16/M203, M4, M249, M60, M2)
via mounting brackets/adapters and allows soldiers with NVG to deliver
accurate weapon fire at night. The current source for the system is
Insight Technology Incorporated in Londonberry, New Hampshire. Detailed
mechanical drawings that prescribe the composition and three
dimensional geometric configuration of the system components are not
available from the Army. Suppliers capable of furnishing this system
must so indicate by writing to Commander, CECOM, ATTN: AMSEL-LC-ED-IN
(Werner), Fort Monmouth, New Jersey 07703-5008. The response must
include documentation (e.g.; mechanical drawings, performance
specifications, manufacturing test results, weapons' zeroing
procedures, weapons' firing test results, a purchase order copy if the
supplier was/is a vendor to the current source along with a statement
from the current source stating such) that demonstrates the supplier
can supply a system that will be physically and functionally
interchangeable with the systems that the current source supplies for
this NSN; furthermore, the response must establish that the offeror is
capable of meeting the delivery schedule and monthly quantities set
forth above. Successful supplier(s) will be required to warrant that
the systems supplied will satisfactorily perform when used for the
purpose intended by the Army. For additional information contact David
Werner at (908)532-8371, FAX (908)532-8181 or e-mail address
