This announcement updates an earlier announcement published in CBD Issue No. PSA-0952, October 15, 1993. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) plans to award a contract to provide software engineering support services and software maintenance support services to the twenty (20) Air Traffic Control Centers (including two (2) Oceanic Display and Planning Centers), and the FAA Technical Center in the spring of 1997. This effort will ensure the continuity of software maintenance support for the Host Computer System (HCS) and the National Airspace System (NAS) operational software, through planned HCS replacement; and will provide associated software engineering support services for the HCS and NAS. The period of performance for this effort is currently estimated to be seven (7) years. A Request For Proposals (RFP) is planned for release in the summer of 1996.
