Melena, Contracting Officer, (303) 969-7223 Sources Sought - The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking sources for expansion on an as needed basis for the storage capacity of an existing EMC 5000 Disk Array. The device is currently configured with 203 GB of storage and 2.5 GB of cache memory. The device can be further expanded to support a maximum of 4 GB of cache memory and an additional 56 physical disk drives. EMC currently offers two different disk drives for this device, a 3 GB drive and a 9 GB drive. The ASC's storage requirements are growing rapidly and it is anticipated that this requirement will be satisfied by a combination of these two disk drive types. It is the Bureau's belief that expansion of this device can only be satisfied by EMC Corporation of Hopkinton, Massachusetts because of their proprietary rights to the required controller microcode. All sources shall submit information to the above address. Any questions shall be submitted in writing to the Contract Specialist. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis, the contracting officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued; this may constitute the only notice for such a solicitation. Appropriate data in response to this notice must be received within 45 days after publication of this notice.
