A sole source contract will be awarded to ITT Defense & Electronics, 7821 Orion Avenue, P O Box 7713, Van Nuys, CA 91409-7713, to demonstrate a proof-of-concept using the MSAG (Multifunction Self-Aligned Gate) process in Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) in developing highly integrated multifunction microwave transmit and receive (T/R) chips and use these chips in a ''TILE'' concept of T/R module packaging for use in an active antenna array. The antenna will be demonstrated on a Medium Altitude Endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (MAE-UAV). MSAG MMIC (Monolithic Mocrowave Integrated Circuitry) technology will be used for all radio frequency functions in the ''title'' modules.
