The NAHSC is a collaboration of private industry firms, universities, and state DOT's operating in a cooperative agreement with the USDOT. The Core Members in the NAHSC are Bechtel, Caltrans, Carnegie Mellon University, Delco Electronics, General Motors, Hughes, Martin Marietta, Parsons Brinckerhoff, University of California at Berkeley the PATH Program, and USDOT, The task of the NAHSC is to analyze alternate AHS concepts; demonstrate AHS capabilities in 1997; develop and test a prototype AHS; and develop specifications for future AHS implementation. The National Automated Highway Systems Consortium (NAHSC) invites you to participate in a workshop that will inform potentially interested organizations of the USDOT Automated Highway Systems (AHS) Program and to provide information regarding opportunities for their participation. Central to the NAHSC approach is the development of a national consensus among stakeholders as to the optimum AHS system configuration and deployment strategy. Involvement of a broad range of stakeholders in program activities is thus a key aim of the NAHSC; this workshop is one step in this process. The agenda includes 1) Description of the NAHSC Organization 2) Status of the AHS Program 3) Opportunities for Participation in the Program, Core Members, Associate Members, Outreach Participants, Contractors 4) Detailed Discussions for each participation category in four parallell breakout sessions. 5) Schedules 6) Summary and Actions 7) The Workshop location is the Sterling Inn in Sterling Heights, MI. To help cover out-of-pocket meeting expenses, including meeting rooms, lunch on March 28 and all coffee breaks, a registration fee of $100 is required. No telephone requests for registration will be accepted. Payment may be made by check or money order.
