U -- PERSONAL SERVICE PRE-SERVICE TRAINING DIRECTOR Due 031395. POC Neil Xavier, Contracting Officer (202) 606-9510. The Peace Corps is seeking qualified individuals (not organizations or companies) to serve as PST Director in Mongolia and China. The two contract positions are available beginning on or about June 6 through October 10, 1995. The PST Directors are responsible for Pre-Service Training, including training and coordinating other training staff; managing all training functions and logistical considerations; evaluating trainee suitability for service and holding evaluation sessions with trainees and staff; coordinating logistics for family live-in and field visits; submittin acquisition requests and payments; and evaluation and reporting progress of the training program. Experience should include: (1) Previous experience in directing/managing a Peach Corps pre-service training cycle. This experience may be substituted with equivalent experience in training American volunteers in overseas living situations; (2) Experience in developing curriculum and training with emphasis in adult learning principals, participative and experiential learning and cross cultural skills; (3) Interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in staff development and training of trainers as well as communication with trainees concerning meeting selection criteria; (4) Maturity with demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively on an inter-cultural team of trainers, staff and Peace Corps Trainees and Volunteers; (5) Knowledge of issues of third world development; (6) Experience as a volunteer overseas or other relevant overseas living experience; and (7) Knowledge of China or Mongolia.
