70 -- CARIS-HIPS SOFTWARE SOL 52-DDNC-5-00075 POC Rubie B. King, Contract Specialist/Norbert F. Szymanski Jr., Contracting Officer (301) 713-0839 The U.S. Department of Commerce/NOAA/NOS intends to place a sole- source contract with Science Applications International Corporation to purchase CARIS-HIPS software. The contractor shall provide three (3) copies of the CARIS-HIPS software; two (2) licensed copies of the software and one leased copy with a six (6) month option to purchase during the first six months of the contract. Each CARIS-HIPS software package shall also include the CARS-SIPS optional module at no additional cost. The base period of performance is twelve (12), months with one (1), twelve (12), month option period. The CARIS-HIPS used to process multibeam sonar and other high density sounding data sets must operate on the Hewlett Packard System 9000-700 series workstation running HP-UX UNIX and must support current version of X windows environment. A one year warranty on the software is required. Warranty includes twenty-four (24) hour fax/telephone support, new releases and software patches. Offeror must provide media (4mm DAT tape) and all documentation for each copy. Delivery of software must be within thirty (30) days after contract award. Any interested parties may request in writing a copy of the complete functional requirements for the CARIS-HIPS software within fifteen (15) days after the publication of this announcement. Request should be mailed to the Department of Commerce/NOAA, Procurement Operations Division, ADP Contracts Branch OA311 Room 4301, Silver Spring, MD 20910, Attention: Rubie B. King. All responsible sources shall respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability, including detailed technical information and other technical information literature demonstrating the ability to meet the above requirements. Potential Offeror's must provide at least three (3) technical references regarding its experience with providing the software and technical support. Pricing data including GSA Schedule if applicable should be included. The response must be sufficient to permit agency analysis to establish a bona fide capability to meet the requirement. Telephonic or Fax responses shall not be accepted. Failure to submit documentation will result in the Government proceeding as above.
