The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is considering contracting for local voice Telecommunications Technician services. This solicitation is for cost analysis only at this time. Technician services will be required to report directly to the Telecommunications Team, Room 1330, 1900 E Street, NW., Washington, DC 20415. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM Monday through Friday, except Government holidays. The technician must be proficient in the installation, programming, maintenance and training of the NEAX 2400 Private Branch Exchange, Noratar Meridian phone system and 1A2 Key Systems. Technician must also have a working knowledge of the Tsartalk voice mail and Octel voice mail systems. Will be required to perform such duties as moving individual phones, installing complete phone systems, relocating dial tones from floor to floor, trouble shooting of phone systems and recommending to the user the corrective action to take. Will be required to attend User and Space Management meetings for the planning of adds, moves, changes or installation of new systems. Must also be able to work overtime on weekends and evenings to meet installation deadlines. Must supply their own tools and diagnostic equipment. The contracted company will provide a list of materials such as cables and connectors with the cost per item so that OPM has the option to purchase direct from the vendor. Services will be required to support several OPM offices located in the Washington metropolitian and Northern Virginia area. Provided to this office will be the cost of hourly overtime rates along with standard hourly rates. There will be occasions the requirement for more than one technician to complete an installation to meet the deadline. Notification to the contractor will be given in advance when this occurs. This announce IS NOT a notice of intent to purchase or award a contract.
