is to provide a study to determine the causes of poor indoor air
quality in buildings at the Johnson Space Center. Complaints
documenting poor Indoor Air Quality will be provided at the
commencement of the investigation. The investigation shall begin with
the review of t he occupant complaints, followed by an evaluation of
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system, and ending
with air sampling. The investigation shall be performed using the
latest technology instruments to identify the sources of poor indoor
air quality Air samples and material samples will be taken to determine
the contaminate. The study will conclude with a report providing
solutions which will be used to identify future projects. Asbestos
materials may be present in the ceiling plenum and in the mechanical
equipment rooms. If samples are to be taken above the ceiling, the
contractor will follow the guidelines of the JSC Asbestos Control
Manua. The estimated period of performance is 240 calendar days. 254s
