Operational, and Other Bus Functions For Transportation of all
Preschool thru Eighth Grade Stu- dents Residing at Fort Benning, GA,
who are attending Fort Bennin DoD Dependent Schools. Services Normally
Provided Monday thru Friday for Ap- proximately 180 School Days,
Beginning On or About 25 Aug 95 and Ending On or About 30 Jun 96, and
For No More Than 50 Days During the Period 15 Jun 95 thru 30 Aug 95,
With Two (2) 12-Month Option Periods. This Requirement Includes
Provision and Maintenance of All Buses and Equipment, Provision of Bus
Drivers, and Provision of Bus Monitors on Buses Trans- porting
Children With Varying Forms and Degrees of Mental, Emotional, or
Physical Handcaps. During the 1994-1995 School Year, Twenty-Six (26)
65-Passenger (or Larger) Buses and Thirteen (13) Special Education
Buses (Equipped With Air-Conditioning, Seat Belts, Mechanical
Wheelchair Lifts, and a Minimum of Three (3) Wheelchair Tiedowns) Were
Required to Transport 1,600 Students and 150 Special Education
Students To and From their Residences and Fort Benning DoD Schools and
Muscogee County (GA) Public Schools/Facilities. Contractor shall
Equip, Staff, and Operate an On-Site Office at Fort Benning. Contractor
and Contractor Employees Shall Comply With All Provisions of DOT Drug
and Alcohol Testing Regulations Effective 1 Jan 96. Contract Shall
Ensure That Background History Checks are Performed on All Current and
Newly-Hired Employees Prior to Performance under any Contract,
pursuant to Section 231, PL 101-647 (42 USC 13041(a) (1). All Bus
Drivers and Bus Monitors Shall be Fully Qualified to Perform Cardio
Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), as Evidenced by Red Cross Certifi-
cation. All Bus Drivers Shall Possess a Commercial Driver's License
Which is Valid in Georgia. Government Will Furnish an Area to Park All
Buses With Adjacent Maintenance Facilities and Administrative Office
Space. Contractor Shall be Responsible For All Maintenance of Buses and
Equip- ment, Handling/Processing/Disposition of Fuels, Oils, and Other
Petroleum Products, Provision and Use of All Fuel Storage Tanks, and
Handling and Disposal of All Hazardous Materials/Waste in Accordance
With All Depart- ment of Public Works (DPW), Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA), Other Federal, State, and Local Statutes and Regulations.
Required Services Will Include Field Trips During and Outside of Normal
School Hours, Some of Which Will Involve Out-of-Town/Overnight Travel.
