The principle features of work include, but are not limited to: (1) Addition/Alteration (ADAL): (a) Demolition of selected portions of the existing building and site improvements, (b) construction of a pre-engineered metal building with electrical power, lighting, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and fire protection systems, (c) altering certain existing building areas, (2) Repair: (a) Construction of a new metal roof and installation of prefinished metal wall panels over existing building, (b) replacement of finishes in existing building areas. This is a firm, fixed-price contract. The estimated cost of construction is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The performance period will be 180 days. Interested SDB concerns should notify our office, in writing, of their intention to bid on the project as a prime contractor as early as possible, but no later than 7 Mar 95. This notification must include a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern, evidence of capacity to obtain required bonds, and specific information which demonstrates the capability to perform projects of this complexity and magintude. Complete information concerning management experience in similar work and financial status should be submitted with references. Even though this solicitation is being considered for an SDB set-aside, business concerns other than SDB are invited to bid. If after bid opening, SDB bids are determined to be more than 10 percent above the fair market price, this acquisition will be converted to unrestricted and all bids received from non-SDB firms will be considered.
