Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc., a facility managing and operating contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy, proposes to sell a patent license agreement to one or possibly more companies for a portable chemical detection system which was developed at Energy Systems and Michigan State University. The technology available for licensing is a system which utilizes surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology. It was originally designed to detect polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs) but it probably can be adapted for detection of other chemicals. Commerical firms interested in procuring a license for this technology may obtain more detailed technical information about this invention by responding to this announcement and executing a Proprietary Information Agreement which will be forwarded upon request. To be considered as a potential licensee, interested companies must respond by March 17, 1995. No licensing intermediaries will be considered.
