Thompson, Contracting Officer (301) 713-0823 The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to procure Deep Blue Expendable Bathythermographic (XBT) Probes on a sealed bid basis. Type of contract will be a Requirements Contract. Successful completion of solicitation identified First Article Testing shall be a prerequisite to continuance of contract performance. The Deep Blue XBTs will be required to operate in depths ranging from 0m to 760m; from ships traveling up to 25 knots; and with accuracies +/- 2% of depth or 5 meters. Temperature resolution of 0.015 degree C or better is required. Length of contract is anticipated as one base year and two option years. The total estimated quantity of Deep Blue XBT probes that may be purchased over the three year period is 52,164 probes. Requests for the solicitation shall be made in writing. See Note 12. (0048)
