The objective of this effort is to integrate real-time specification and prototyping techniques and improved parallel processing capabilities into the Rome Laboratory PROTO software tool. This effort will build upon PROTO's existing parallel processing capabilities by enhancing its architecture modeling facilities, providing support for data parallelism and devising a visual representation scheme for parallel activities. The PROTO tool will also be extended to support the prototyping of real-time applications by implementing techniques such as the time-based scheduling of processes. The successful contractor must have expertise in the following areas: C3I systems; structured analysis and object oriented requirements and design techniques; real-time methods and tools; parallel processing software and hardware technology; prototyping methods. The performance period is 36 months.
