S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Electronics and Power Sources Directorate intends to issue Solicitation No. DAAL01-95-R-3001 under the Research and Development Standard Solicitation/Contract Program. The research topic will address the design and fabrication techniques to provide a high energy density, attitude insensitive zinc-air battery in a standard ''AA'' cell configuration. This solicitation will be issued under the provisions of DFARS 235.7004-1(a) which provides for the use of non-conventional solicitations in the basic research arena. The solicitation is an expression of interest only and not a commitment on the part of the Government to make any award or to pay for any response preparation costs. All potential offerors should be alert that the only formal solicitation document will be issued through the CBD on or about 15 March 1995. All parties interested in submitting a proposal must provide their name and address to the above contract specialist to be included on the mailing list for any supplemental packages and/or amendments.
