912-926-2929. This is not a presolicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part
5, but is a MARKET SURVEY to identify sources with the capability to
replace the current IP-1310 Azimuth Indicator. The replacement Azimuth
indicator must be a form, fit, and function replacement and shall
include additional enhancements not currently included in the IP-1310.
Required enhancements include built-in test capability and night
vision capability (NVIS GREEN B). Additional enhancements include, but
are not limited to the following: dual plane screen; flat screen
technology; multi-color (minimum of 3); aircrew available bezel
function buttons; and 1553B data bus capability. The viewing screen
should be maximized with a +/- 60 degree view angle and the minimum
resolution should be 512 X 512 pixels. The replacement azimuth
indicator shall weigh no more than 3.0 lbs. and have a minimum power
dissipation of 15.0 watts. The electrical interface shall be compatible
with the ALR-69 system using the current plug configuration
(MS3147E-12-50S). The maximum dimensions are 8.745 (length plus knobs);
3.260 (width); and 3.260 (height). Preference would be for a currently
developed replacement item meeting the governments requirements with
little or no modification. A solicitation does not exist at this time.
This survey is for information and planning purposes only and does not
constitute an Invitation for Bid or Request for Proposal and is not to
be construed as a commitment by the Government. Respondents to this
notice will be sent: 1) Draft Azimuth Indicator Specification 2) Draft
Statement of Work for High Contrast Azimuth Indicator, and 3)
Contractor capability Summary Sheet. Replacement of the Azimuth
Indicator may/does involve technology that has military or space
application. U.S. contractors must provide a current approved DD Form
2345 with their request. Contractors may obtain a DD Form 2345
Certification by contacting Defense Logistics Service Center,
1-800-352-3572. The extent of foreign participation has not yet been
determined and the release of information to foreign sources will be
determined at the time of request. Written responses should be mailed
