70 -- COLOR PLOTTERS SOL 8123 DUE 032895 POC Maggie Russell (703) 648-7366 The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for high-resolution color plottersunder the DIS-II + program with a width of 36 inches (92 centimeters) that are fullycompatible with USGS-owned Unix hardware platforms (DG-AViiON, SUN Microsystems, Silicon Graphics,Hewlett-Packard, IBM RS/6000), Personal Computers, Power PC's, and Macintosh's current andofficial operating system releases and fonts. Color plotters are needed to generate outputresults generated by the various graphics packages and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)related packages. These plotters shall be delivered across a wide geographical area and thusease of configuration and use is critical as is a high degree of reliability. Hardware andsoftware maintenance and central site telephone support are also required. It should benoted that only those firms which sent in written comments on the Hardware Peripherals Request forComment (RFC), issued August 23, 1994, will automatically be included on the mailing list.RFP 8123 may be obtained from the USGS upon WRITTEN request (FAX 703-648-7901); No telephonerequests for this solicitation package will be accepted. Due to the limited number ofsolicitations available, the RFP will be issued on a first come-first serve basis and onlyone copy of the RFP will be issued per company (the addressee of the first request). Thisrequirement is not set-aside for small business concerns. All responsible sources may submitan offer which will be considered.
