COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 23,1995 PSA#1289LOSS MECHANISMS AND UNSTEADY FLOWS IN TURBO MACHINES The Propulsion and
Energetics Panel of the Advisory Group for Aerospace Research and
Development (AGARD) will hold a Symposium on ``Loss Mechanisms and
Unsteady Flows in Turbomachines'' from 8-12 May 1995 in Derby, United
Kingdom. The symposium focuses on a better understanding of loss
mechanisms and general flow characteristics for optimizing
turbomachinery efficiency and pave the way for improved design and
analysis techniques. Topics to be discussed include boundary layer
transition, separation and post-separation behavior, shock/boundary
layer interactions, clearance effects, surge and stall, and secondary
flows, especially at off-design and unsteady periodic conditions. For
further information, contact the AGARD National Coordinator, Lt Col
Stephen Marino at 703-602-7358, fax 703-607-3158, e-mail to MARINOS@
