The project includes construction of a single story Physical Fitness Center building of approximately 24,000 square feet. The building consists of load bearing masonry walls with brick veneer and preformed metal panels. Roof system consists of steel trusses, steel decking, insulation and metal roofing. Other building components consist of hollow metal frames, aluminum doors and storefront system, wood doors, ceramic tile restrooms, carpet and resilient flooring, gymnasium-type hardwood strip flooring, fire protection sprinkler system and mechanical and electrical systems. Supporting facilities include all utilities, including water distribution lines, sanitary sewer lines, storm drainage lines, sidewalks, parking, landscape and incidental related work to provide a complete and usable facility. The proposed acquisition is being considered for 100 percent set-aside for small disadvantaged business concerns. Interested SDB concerns should notify this office in writing of their intention to bid the project as prime contractor as early as possible but NLT 13 March 1995. This notification must include a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and economically business concern evidence of capacity to obtain required bonds from an approved surety and specific info which demonstrates the capability to perform projects of this complexity and magnitude. Complete info concerning management experience in similar work and current financial statement shall be submitted with references. If the requested information is not received from an adequate number of SDB concerns, the solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis. Even if you have sent the above information on a prior contract, you must submit documentation that will become a part of this solicitation file. Therefore replies to this office are requested from all interested business concerns as well as from small disadvantaged business concerns. Estimated cost is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Estimated duration of the contract is 400 calendar days for completion. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 03 April 1995. Request for solicitation packages should be received by the issuing office not later than 10 days of listing of this solicitation in the Commerce Business Daily and must be submitted in writing (request may be faxed, 504-361-2631).
