COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 24,1995 PSA#12902451 Crystal Drive Arlington, VA 22245-5200 D -- SHIPBOARD UHF RADIO DIGITAL WIDEBAND TRANSMISSION SYSTEM (DWTS)
POC Matthew E. Brandt, PMW 172-12B, 703-602-8279 or Linda Squires,
02-32, 703-602-0660. Synopsis No. 25. Space and Naval Warfare Systems
(SPAWAR) is seeking detailed information concerning an Ultra High
Frequency (UHF) multichannel full duplex radio system with digital
wideband transmission capabilities for maritime application. Current
interest is that the UHF radio system be able to process conditioned
diphase signals, use binary modulation, interface with a wideband
encryption device, and have a frequency range covering two UHF
frequency range bands, which are 225 - 400 MHz, and 1350 - 1850 MHz. In
addition, the radio system must be compatible and selective from a menu
of data rates, such as T1 (1544 kbps), EUROCOM (256/512/1024/2048
kbps), ATACS (288/576/1152/2304 kbps), and TRITAC (256/512/1024/2048
kbps). In addition, the system primary power requirement is 115 VAC,
50/60 Hz, single phase power. The system should be easily maintained
and operated. Also, it should feature a full remote control capability
using a remote computer terminal and optimized for network operation.
Information submitted should include all available White Papers
describing: 1) details of the UHF multichannel radio system design, 2)
testing and reliability data, 3) delivery and cost data. Please note
that this is a Request For Information only, and that no procurement
documents for such a radio system exist at this time. SPAWAR may,
however, use information obtained through this request when structuring
future NDI/COTS procurement documents which may include a requirement
for demonstration of the proposed radio system prior to award of any
future contract. Interested parties should indicate whether they are
small business, small disadvantaged business, or 8(a). This is not a
request for proposal (RFP), a promise to issue an RFP, nor a promise by
the government to pay for information received in response to this
synopsis. Acknowledgement of receipt will not be made nor will
telephone inquiries be honored. Proprietary data submitted in response
to this synopsis will be protected when designated. A procurement, if
any, resulting form this synopsis will be separately synopsized by RFP
in the CBD.Interested offerors may send information by 23 February 1995
to: Commander, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Attn: Matthew
E. Brandt, RF Systems Engineer, Code: PMW 172-12B, Room 540, 2451
Crystal Drive, Arlington, VA 22245-5200. Please reference this synopsis
