The United States Mint has a requirement for the upgrading of existing
elevators, both passenger and freight, at the San Francisco Mint. This
requirement includes furnishing all labor, materials, permits (fees)
and approvals from governing agencies, tools, supervision and equipment
necessary for and incidental to the installation and testing of the
following described features: (1) Installation and testing of the
specified Phase I and Phase II Fire Recall operation to traction
Passenger Elevator No. 1 and traction Freight Elevators No. 2 and No.
3; (2) Provide all labor and material necessary to upgrade Passenger
Elevator No. 1 and Freight Elevators Nos. 2, 3, 5 & 6 for compliance
with the Recommended Elevator Safety Requirements for Seismic Zone 3 or
Greater, ASME A17.1, Appendix F; and (3) Modify passenger elevator No.
1 for compliance with Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS),
the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the disabled requirements
specified in Titles 8 and 24 of the California Code of Regulations. All
new equipment and devices shall be compatible and operable in all
respects with existing elevator operating system and shall in no way
impair the realiability or operational functions of the existing
elevator operating system. Estimated price range of contract: between
$100,000 and $250,000. A firm-fixed price contract is expected to
result from this Invitation for Bids (IFB). Collect telephone calls

USM 95-19. This solicitation is a 100% set-aside for small businesses.
Contractor personnel subject to security clearance. All requests must
