This synopsis is a market survey seeking to locate potential sources who are currently developing and/or have developed training system technologies, with an emphasis on simulator networking. A requirement to network Naval Aviation simulators for the purpose of advanced tactical training is currently being researched. General requirements include: joint simulation with multiple land, sea, and air based players, realistic Command, Control, Communication (C3), and weapons employment. Detailed requirements for each platform have not yet been determined. Possible solutions could include networking modifications to existing trainers and/or less sophisticated micro-based part task trainers. Vendors should have experience in developing, manufacturing, or integrating networked training systems and/or subsystems. Vendors who have developed Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) interface technology are of particular interest. This announcement is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY and it may or may not result in as solicitation for proposals or award of a contract. This is not a request for proposals. Interested firms should submit a detailed and comprehensive summary of training system technologies in ten (10) pages or less OR provide company brochure(s) detailing their system(s). It is important to provide references of customers who have received this type of support. The government does not intend to pay for the information solicited nor will acknowledgement of receipt be issued. Please include a statement on your willingness to demonstrate your product(s).
