38 -- EQUIPMENT RENTAL OF FORESTER C-2000 PORTABLE MOBILE ROCK CRUSHER ATTACHMENT FOR FRONT-END LOADER W/O OPERATOR FOR TESTING ON CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, AND UPGRADING FOREST ROADS SOL R5-27-95-9001 due 041195. USDA Forest Service intends to negotiate rental of a Forester C-2000 portable mobile rock crusher attachment for a front-end loader on a non-operator basis to test new innovative technology in construction, maintenance, and upgrading of Forest roads in Arizona and New Mexico. Firms that believe they can respond to this need with similar or comparable equipment must demonstrate that capability by fully and specifically addressing the following: 1) Maximum crushing size of up to 12 inch diameter with the end product passing a 2-inch sieve; 2) Production yate of approximately 190 cubic yards of crushed material per hour; 3) Operating efficiency of 70% or greater with 7 hours production out of a 10 hr day; 4) Equipment must be capable of lifting and crushing the material during re-processing road surfacing by improving the roadway material gradation (material is to come from salvage from ditches and large stones exposed by scarifying the road surface, and windrowing into 2 ft high by 4 ft wide together with material scarified from road surface); 5) power unit must be turbo charged with a minimum of 225 hp and have crushing motor arm of high strength steel; 6) equipment must fit on to a front end loader and be capable of use on Forest roads; 7) contractor must provide training, support and supervision of operation with regard to use, service and repairs of rented equipment for duration of rental; 8) replaceable disposable parts shall last 6 to 8 hours or longer.
