EPA Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Laboratory in Ada, OK is seeking to acquire a high sensitivity benchtop Gas Chromatograph/Ion Trap Mass Spectrometer System. The salient specifications of the system are as follows: (1) Ability to acquire full scan mass spectra at the sub part per billion level for standard GC/MS operations. (2) Designed to perform GC/MS/MS (tandem mass spectrometry) on the single benchtop system using ion trap technology that permits isolation of selected ions for fragmentation and production generation - the technology is such that ionization, mass analysis, dissociation, and further mass analysis are all performed in a single instrument (ion trap) component. (3) Configured to perform chemical ionization mass spectrometry using several easily selected reagent gases in both the positive and negative ion modes. (4) Be able to acquire mass spectral data from all of the mass spectral techniques (electron ionization, chemical ionization, MS/MS, selected ion monitoring) and selectively switch between the techniques within one analytical scan. (5) The GC/MS and GC/MS/MS systems shall be able to detect two picograms full scan. The proposed acquisition shall include the following: (a) Firm Fixed Price - FFP. (b) Installation within 60 days after delivery at Ada, OK. (c) One week of on-site training covering total system operations within a week after completing the installation to at least 4 operators. (d) Delivery within 150 days after award. (e) One year warranty. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be evaluated and considered by EPA.
