The Social Security Administration intends to place a delivery order against Austin Direct, General Services Administration (GSA) Contract, Number GSOOK94AGS5201, for seventy three (73each) 486DX2-66 Personal Computers. The computers will meet or exceed the following specifications: The system must meet Energy Star requirements: The system must be Novell certified: The processor will be Intel 486DX2-66MHZ with 256KB cache: The Bus will be PCI/ISA with not less than 2 PCI slots and four ISA slots, note that the slots may be dual ISA/PCI slots: The power supply will be 200 watts: The memory will be on one (1) SIMM with 8MB of storage, total memory must be expandable to 32MB using existing SIMM sockets and the existing 8MB SIMM: The mother board must provide a Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) socket for an Intel Pentium Overdrive chip: There will be one 3.5'' and one 5.25'' floppy drives: There will be one 424MB, or larger, IDE hard disk: There will be a PCI 64-bit IDE: There will be a floppy disk controller: There will be one 64-bit PCI video adaptor with Windows acceleration, 1MB (expandable to 2MB) RAM: There will be two (2) serial ports that provide the 16550 UART chip for high speed data transfer: There will be at least one (1) EPP/ECP parallel port: There will be one dual speed CD ROM drive that is Kodak Photo CD compatible, a CD ROM caddy must be supplied if applicable: There will be either an IDE adaptor for the CD ROM with necessary power and data cables: There will be a 14'' SVGA monitor that is Energy Star compliant with .28 dot pitch, non-interlaced, tilt-swivel base, 1028x768 with 256 colors: There will be a 14.4KB Fax v.32 Modem, the modem may be external to include modem cable or internal to include factory installation: There will be a serial Microsoft, two button ergonomic mouse, if the PC has a PS/2 style mouse port the a PS/2 style mouse connector is required: There will be a 101 key full size keyboard: the operating system will be MS DOS 6.22 or later: There will be Microsoft Windows for Workgroups 3.11 or later: The system will be delivered with manuals, software drivers, and cables for all items purchased: All software will be factory installed and all components must be useable by the end-user when the machine is assembled and powered on: The warranty will include 1 year on-site service at the site that the machine is installed, and two additional years parts and labor: The price must be FOB, Dallas with inside delivery: DESTINATION: Dallas, Texas--Delivery time 30-60 calendar days. Vendors able to meet this requirement are invited to identify their interest and ability to meet this requirement including clear and convincing documentation, based on the above description indicating that it is advantageous to the Government in the areas of price and other factors to consider sources other than the above identified source. No contract award will be made on the basis of information received in response to this notice. This synopsis is a notice of intent to place an order against a GSA schedule contract and should not be considered as a request for offers. The government will not pay for information received. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the contracting officer may determine that a solicitatin will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended schedule vendor and all firms that respond to this synopsis or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation. If no affirmative responses are received, an order will be placed with the above-named vendor. All warranties, terms, and conditions applicable under the non-mandatory GSA contract are included.
