The work includes providing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportaiton, supervision and management services necessary to provide repairs and replacement to railroad and ground level crane rail. The work includes rail replacement, alignment, tie replacement, switch repairs and all incidental related work. Approximately 80 percent of the rail is encased in asphalt pavement and 20 percent is open track. The railroad and ground level crane rail maintenance and repairs shall be performed in accordance with the contract specifications. The work identified shall be provided by means of a Requirements type contract. The contract term shall be for a period of one year. The Government shall have the option to extend the term of the contract services for additional periods of one to twelve months. The total contract term, including exercise of any options, shall not exceed 36 months. Plans and specificaions will be made available on or about 13 March 1995. The estimated cost range is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The proposed procurement listed herein is being offered for competition limited to eligible 8(a) concerns. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIV) is 1629. Eligibility to participate will be restricted to firms in the transitional stage. Interested 8(a) firms are encouraged to request a copy of the solicitation as soon as possible since the solicitation will be issued without further notice upon SBA acceptance of the requirement for the section 8(a) program.
