CONTRACTING OFFICER; (202) 307-1949. The United States Department of
Justice, Criminal Division, intends to place an order with Compaq
Computer Corporation for 300-400 Compaq personal computers or
equivalent against GSA Schedule contract number GSOOK93AGS6391-PS01 for
the 2 YEAR LEASE TO PURCHASE of ADP equipment. The vendor shall provide
the following equipment, including, at least a one-year on-site
warranty on parts and labor, and the ability to provide after-sale
extended warranty and screen protection programs. Each personal
computer (PC) should have: 486DX2 66MHz microprocessor (Energy star
compliant); 8 meg. memory; internal 420MB (or better) hard disk;
internal 1.44M 3 1/2'' diskette drive; 1 MB VESA local bus video
controller and AT slot capability (at least); 32-bit 10-BaseT LAN card;
(motherboard PCI), 512K Cache, expansion slots (at least 3 or better);
pentium upgradable socket; 17'' Multisync Color VGA Monitor (Energy
Star Compliant) (graphic controller should be capable of 1280 x 1024)
extended or ergomatic PC keyboard function; bus mouse (2-buttons);
serial and parallel ports (at least one each) SCSI board or channel
(motherboard PCI); power cord. Software includes at least MS-DOS
version 6.2 (3 1/2'' diskette) and Windows 3.1 (3 1/2 diskette),
including any additional software. All hardware and software must be
IBM PC-compatible. Delivery of the equipment should be within the terms
and conditions of the GSA Schedule. All interested sources may submit
written responses which identify their interest and technical
capability to respond to the above stated requirements. Written
responses should include the GSA contract number, prices and full
technical proposal showing ability to meet requirements, and must be
received within 15 days calendar days after publication of this notice.
Facsimile and/or oral communications are not acceptable and will not be
considered. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries
shall be accepted. If there is no affirmative response to the effect
that a comparable source is available and that it is more advantageous
to the Government than acquiring from the GSA Schedule 70, an order
will be placed with Compaq Computer Corporation under the terms and
conditions of their GSA Contract. All information should be submitted
