H -- RADIATION SAFETY OFFICER SOL 581-2-95 DUE 041595 POC Contact Point, MIKE HUGHEY, (304)429-6755x2919, Contracting Officer, MIKE HUGHEY, (304)429-6755x2919 Radiation Safety Officer will establish, execute and control radiation policies and procedures in accordnace with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) JCAH, FDA, Department of Transportation and any other regulatory commision that has jurisidiction over Nuclear Medicine activities. He/She will communicate policies in writing to employees; assure VA compliance with all licensing agencies; assist this medical center with a Nuclear Radiation Safety Program; provide guidance and direction in all potentially serious problem matters; and continue ongoing education of personnel in the handling, processing and utilization of radionuclides. These services will be performed as necessary and when needed to complete VA requirements. Contract will be for base year with 2 (1) year options. Pending availability of funds.
