The work involves installation of conduit, wire and alarm panels to the existing medical gas monitoring system in the main hospital. Holden Hospital Supply (HHS), the proposed sole-source contractor, currently has a maintenance contract with TAMC for the medical gas and vacuum system (life support). The new master alarm under this RFP will tie into and must be compatible with the existing alarm system. Based on HHS's existing contract, they are solely responsible for the system. The new master alarm, after installation, will also have to be maintained by HHS. HHS must certify the proper functioning of the new master alarm after the installation to insure its safe operation since it would affect the operation of the entire existing medical gas system of the hospital. HHS will be expected to place subcontracts to the maximum practicable extent with small and disadvantaged firms in accordance with the provisions of Public Law 95-507. The estimated cost of the proposed project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation to be issued O/A April 14, 1995. Documents to be available at $33.00 per set of specifications and drawings. Single copies of specifications alone may be purchased by interested applicants for $14.00. Drawings alone may be purchased for $19.00 a set. Payment must accompany request.
