Mathis, Contracting Officer, (303)361-8012. Life safety upgrade to bachelor officers' quarters and troop housing quarters, Buildings 320, 419, 636 and 638, Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, Aurora, CO. Contract shall consist of demolition of existing fire reporting devices and fire control panels, upgrading life safety egress requirements, and furnishing and installing fire detection and reporting systems. A general contractor or electrical contractor may complete all phases of the project except fire alarm system purchase, installation, testing and programming. SOLE SOURCE: The existing Fitzsimons post-wide fire detection, notification and reporting system is a Notifier AM 2020 system. To communicate with the existing system, which is located at the Fitzsimons Fire Dept., the new fire detection and reporting equipment MUST be Notifier. Protex Special Systems of Westminster, CO is the only Colorado distributor authorized by Notifier to install, test and program Notifier fire detection and reporting systems. Therefore, the prime contractor will be required to subcontract with Protex Special Systems for furnishing, installing, testing and programming the new fire detection and reporting system. Contract period of performance shall be 120 calendar days following date of Notice to Proceed. Estimated magnitude of contract is between $100,000 and $250,000. This acquisition is unrestricted. Solicitation will be issued on or about March 17, 1995. Actual bid due date will be 30 calendar days after actual solicitation issue date.
