Air Force Development Test Center (AFDTC) intends to solicit and
negotiate with only one source, Amber Engineering, Inc., 5756 Thornwood
Dr., Galeta, CA 93117-3802, (805) 683-6621. In accordance with FAR
6.302-1, Amber Engineer is the only known source that can meet the
government's minimum essential requirements for a camera, 256X256
Snapshot InSb system LN2 Amber Engineering Inc., model number 5256SS.
The high speed infrared camera system is used to determine the thermal
characteristics of heated objects. The characteristic temperatures of
these objects is as low as 400 degrees Kelvin and no higher than 800
degrees Kelvin. This camera system will be used to analyze a surface's
thermal gradient as it encounters deformation. The following are
salient features of the system. Integration time of as low as 2
micro-seconds in the snapshot mode. Integration of entire focal plane
takes place at the same time (i.e. complete focal plane integration
after 2 micro-seconds). Adjustable integration time. Integration time
is independent of readout logic. The pixel size will be at least 25um
by 25um and no greater then 40 um by 40 um with greater than 70 percent
quantum efficiency fill factor product. Operational wavelength of 2
microns to 5 microns. Correlated non-uniformity's of less than 0.1
percent. Four channel acquisition providing three additional channels
when system is expanded to meet future requirements. Array size of at
least 256 by 128 pixels. Technical questions may be directed to Mr. Van

offer which will be considered. Firms are also requested to submit
information regarding their capabilities (i.e., literature, catalogs,
brochures, ect) to furnish supplies that comply with the requirements
of the government. (No contract award will be made on the basis of
bids/proposals received in response to this synopsis.) Firms responding
to this solicitation should reference F08651-95-R-0156 and indicate
whether they are or are not a small or small disadvantaged business
concern as defined in FAR 52.219-1 and 52.219-2 and whether they are a
manufacturer or dealer/distributor. The Air Force reserves the right
to consider a small business set-aside based on responses hereto.
