Software requirements must organize, store an dretrieve files quickly and efficiently under one organized system. The VA requires a turnkey package with document image and full text base retrieval capabilities. The software package requires the combining of electronic imaging and text base, both numbers and text database technologies to be integrated in a seamless fashion with the VA's decentralized hospital computer program. Software must be able to run as it is delivered and be completely user friendly. Software requirements for this solicitaion for optical disk stroage and retrieval must be OptiDoc in order to be compatible with existing systems in the Medical Center. The software must meet the following minimum requirements: Gupta SQL/base/unlimited user; open systems approach with, as a minimum, the following tools: Dynamic Link Library (DLL), Object Link Embedding (OLE), Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), C++ Programming Language (C-API), Macro Language, Workflow capabilities to move images, text or objects from one client station to another via e-mail, Data dictionary complete application database table layouts and logical field-use definitions, ability for security changes to be inherited by documenting in the system, bar code indexing, full text OCR Indexing, Full text OCR zoned indexing, Back files conversion, Forms creating; Retrieval and Reporting Requirements-Ad hoc query interface, Batch printing of manually selected documents or ad hoc query result-set documents, Batch delete of manuualy selected documents or ad hoc query result-set documents, Standard system reports, Report Writer, Application launching capability to view external documents (e.g. launch MS_Word), Audit Report, Security report in document access reports.
