The work to be performed under this project consists of closing the Schwartz Road Landfill at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all materials, equipment and labor necessary to completely construct the project in accordance with the contract requirements. The Schwartz Road Landfill is located on Schwartz Road 1.4 miles east of Kennedy Parkway. A new Class III landfill is presently under construction adjacent to and east of the Schwartz Road Landfill. Construction of the new landfill will be complete prior to the start of this construction contract. The project site comprises approximately 64 acres. A cursory summary of the work includes, but may not be limited to earthwork, the construction of limerock roads, the construction of a stormwater management system, installation of a geomembrane liner, construction of a gas venting system, placement and establishment of sod and seed & mulch, concrete work and perimeter fencing.--Plan to issue sol. pkg. on or about 03/20/95.--Magnitude of project between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.--Period of performance: 240 calendar days after notice to proceed.--All responsible sources may submit a bid/proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
