LUCIE INLET, MARTIN COUNTY, FLORIDA SOL DACW17-95-B-0029 DUE 050395 POC Contract Specialist, Kathie Duke, (904)232-3713 The project work consists of routine maintenance dredging of shoals from the St. Lucie Inlet Channel, Cut 1, adjacent transition area, impoundment basin and alternate access channel, and placing the dredged material in a nearshore disposal area located near Hobe Sound approximately 40,000-feet south of the south jetty. The contract has a base bid plus three options. The base bid will require removing approximately 160,000 cubic yards from St. Lucie Inlet Channel, Cut 1 and placing dredging material in nearshore disposal area. The maximum haul distance is approximately 49,000 feet. All distance are approximate. The nearshore placement will require disposal between 0.0 MLW contour line and 20.0 MLW contour within and approximately 9,600-foot length of nearshore disposal area. Option 1 will require removing approximately 70,000 cubic yards from the impoundment basin and placing material in project nearshore disposal area. Option 2 will require removing approximately 40,000 cubic yards from the transition area located between channel and impoundment basin and placing material in project nearshore disposal area. Option 3 will require removing approximately 33,000 cubic yards from the alternate access channel and placing material in the project nearshore disposal area. Magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Pre-Solicitation Notice will be issued on or about 27 Feb 95. Invitation DACW17-95-B-0029 will be issued on or about 17 Mar 95 and opened on or about 03 May 95. Cost of Plans and Specifications is $40.00.
