Communications and Airspace Management Systems of the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Electronics Systems Center (ESC) seeks to procure approximately 64 AM-7148/GRC-206 HF Power Amplifier/Antenna Couplers, National Stock Number (NSN) 5985-01-149-1437. The AM-7148 provides electrical and mechanical interface with the RT-1209/TRC-104 Receiver-Exiter which facilitates the output power amplification and impedance matching for the AN/GRC-206 Radio Communication system HF Antennas. The AN/GRC-206 Radio Communications system is used by Tactical Air Control Parties (TACP), Combat Control Teams (CCT), and Combat Communications units in Air Combat Command (ACC), Air Mobility Command (AMC), Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), and United States Air Force in Europe (USAFE). The basic requirements for the AM-7148 are as follows: operate within a frequency range of 2.0 to 29.9999MHz, operate in modes USB, LSB, CW, AM, and FSK, RF power output of 150 watts -1.0, +0.5dB pep and average at 27.5 V dc input, maximum RF power input of 157mW, and an operating voltage of 22.5 to 30V dc. Environmental and Physical requirements are as follows: operate within temperature range of -40 degrees C to +68 degrees C, at an altitude of 10,000 feet, withstand a three foot head of water immersion, maximum weight of 37 pounds, and a height/width/depth of 8.75/14/15.5 inches. AM-7148 mounting must be compatible with existing mounting tray, NSN 5975-01-302-7471. Potential offerors should have the ability to deliver fully factory tested AM-7148/GRC-206 Power Amplifiers within eighteen (18) months after contract award at a minimum rate of 2 per month. Under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) or 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), ESC intends to award a sole source contract to Rockwell International, Collins Avionics & Communications Division in April 1995.
