On behalf of the U.S. Army Natick RD&E Center, Battelle Memorial Institute is conducting a market survey to identify state-of-the-art protective materials for use in construction of 21st Century Land Warrior Generation II Soldier System components. Basic protection requirements include chemical, flame, and POL resistance. Advanced material properties include direct energy resistance, EMI protection, and radar signature reducing characteristics. Material applications include component housings, cable sheathing, gasketing, and protective covers. This announcement is a request for technical literature and samples items for materials that exhibit all basic protection characteristics and at least one advanced material property.
