COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 2,1995 PSA#1294Electronic Systems Center/AVK, Contracting Division, Command & Control
Systems, 20 Schilling Circle, Hanscom AFB, MA 01731-2816 A -- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: SURVEY OF COMMERCIAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL
TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE INTEGRATED MAINTENANCE DATA SYSTEM POC Major
Jacques Hamann, Contracting Officer, (617)377-6601. The Integrated
Maintenance Data System (IMDS) program office, Electronic Systems
Center (ESC/AVR), is in the process of examining the current methods of
collecting, inputting and retrieving Air Force maintenance data and
investigating ways to improve the overall system. CBD synopsis BAA
#AV95-01, published 31 January 1995 and amended 6 February 1995,
addresses the systems approach to interfacing with the Air Force legacy
maintenance databases, and providing a standardized user interface. As
a separate but parallel effort to BAA #AV95-01, ESC/AVR is seeking
information and marketing demonstrations from industry on computer
hardware, software and other technologies categorized as commercial off
the shelf (COTS) or that are currently under development for commercial
or Government application. These technologies should address components
of the maintenance data collection, input and retrieval systems, with
the goal of assisting Air Force maintenance organizations in
accomplishing their daily tasks. Typical maintenance related functions
include, but are not limited to, the following: (1) scheduling of
personnel, equipment and aircraft; (2) parts ordering; (3) inventory
tracking; (4) maintenance data collection; (5) maintaining aircraft
configuration records; (6) accessing maintenance technical data on the
flightline; (7) accessing aircraft status information; and (8)
performing aircraft subsystem diagnostics. Information gathered and the
demonstrations provided will assist ESC/AVR in identifying technologies
for possible inclusion in future follow-on system level demonstrations
at operational organizations. ESC/AVR will utilize the
information/demonstrations from the BAA #AV95-01 effort and this RFI to
support IMDS requirements definition, development of a business plan,
and IMDS implementation contract award in the first quarter of FY97.
Your response should include (1) a maximum two page (8 1/2 X 11, double
spaced) summary explaining your technology/product, how it relates to
the IMDS program, how and by whom it is being used or will be used, and
how you would propose to demonstrate it to ESC/AVR; and (2) available
product brochures. This RFI is for information and marketing
demonstration purposes only and does not constitute an IFB or RFP. A
reference library is not available at ESC and an industry briefing is
not planned. ESC/AVR may invite follow-up presentations or
demonstrations on particularly interesting technologies. Contact
ESC/AVR at (617) 377-6123 for any additional information. Submit
information to ESC/AVR, Bldg 1305, 20 Schilling Circle, Hanscom AFB, MA
01731-2816, no later than sixty (60) days after publication of this
RFI. (0059) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0006 19950301\A-0006.SOL)
