Z -- S/M FOR INSTALLATION OF EAST AREA HIGH PRESSURE AIR STORAGE SYSTEM, BUILDING 643 SOL 1-073-GGK1.1053 DUE 033195 POC Bid Distribution Office,(804)864-2547. The work to be performed consists of installing the high pressure air storage system at Building 643 in the east area of the Langley Research Center. Contractor shall furnish all plant equipment tools, material, labor and service for or incidental to a complete and finish job. The work to be performed includes but is not limited to the following: furnish and install storage vessel support structures. This includes providing a structural steel support rack for 51 Government furnished storage vessels. The support rack is to be installed on an existing concrete slab. Shall install 51 Government furnished storage vessels. The Contractor shall transport and install the 51 Government furnished storage vessels into the new support structures. Each vessel is approximately 24 inches OD, approximately 30 feet long, and weighs approximately 7000 pounds. Contractor shall provide a piping system to connect the storage vessel with 2.5-inch pipes; connect the vessel piping to the new 6 inch distribution pipes to the new 8-inch distribution pipe; connect the new 8-inch distribution pipe to the existing 4-inch distribution pipe. Shall install a new Government furnished 8 inch globe style pressure isolation valve. Contractor shall provide and install a pressure release valve. Shall install a direct burial transfer piping system to connect the existing 4 inch distribution pipes to the new 4 inch distribution pipes to Building 643. Contract duration 120 days--Estimated cost range between $250,000 and $500,000--All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency--March 31, 1995--Bid opening date is approximate--Solicitation available approximately 3/14/95.
