Basile, Contracting Officer Provide one air-cooled liquid chiller, 70 ton nominal, package. The unit shall be a microprocessor controlled, air cooled, liquid chiller utilizing reciprocating compressors and electronic expansion valves. Unit shall be factory assembled in one cabinet. Unit shall be completely wired, fully piped complete with controls and refrigerant charge. FRAME: shall consist of heavy gage galvanized steel members (zinc phosphate) with an electrostatically applied baked enamel finish. Condenser fans shall be direct-drive, propeller type, discharging air vertically (upward). COMPRESSORS: shall be reciprocating, semihermatic type, mounted on spring vibration isolators, with an isolation efficiency of no less than 95%. Cooler shall be tube type, with removable heads. Tubes shall be internally enhanced, seamless copper type rolled into tube sheets, insulated with 3/4'' PVC foam of maximum K factor 0.28. Cooler design shall incorporate two (2) independent direct expansion refrigerant circuits. Condenser shall be all copper fins and tubes. Condenser shall be coated with vinyl corrosion protection. CONTROLS: Refrigerant circuit components shall include a hot gas muffler, high side pressure relief device, liquid line shut-off valves, suction and discharge shutoff valves, replaceable core filter drier, moisture indicating sight glass, stepper motor actuated electronic expansion valve, and complete operating charge of refrigerant (R-22 and compressor oil). Controls shall include: microprocessor, power and control circuit terminal blocks, on/off control switch, replaceable solid state relay panel, eight character diagnostic display/set point panel, thermistors, and pressure transducers and potentimeters. Safeties shall be equipped with thermistors and potentiometers and all necessary components, in conjunction with the control system. These shall provide the unit with the following protections: loss of refrigerant charge protection, low water flow detection, low chilled water temperature protection, low and high superheat protection, low control voltage protection, high pressure switch and low oil protection for each compressor circuit. Electrical overload protection shall be accomplished through the use of two devices (1) definite purpose contactors and (2) calibrated, ambient compensated, magnetic trip circuit breakers. Circuit breaker shall open all three phases in the event of an overload in one phase. Diagnostic display module shall be capable of indicating the safety lock out condition by displaying a code (a scrolled display is preferred). Unit shall be rated for 460 volts, three phase 60 HZ. Unit dimensions shall not exceed 13 feet 8 inches length by 7 feet 7 inches width. Two standard technical manuals shall be provided upon delivery. Brand name Carrier 30GN-070-CG or equal, 01 EA.
