These encoders must be physically and electrically identical to the Aydin Vector MMP-900-305-501. This is required to insure compatibility with telemetry systems already designed and fabricated to support current testing in progress. Desired delivery is 60 days after receipt of order (ARO) and required delivery is 90 days ARO. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), the Government considers the purchase of the PCM encoders to be a sole source acquisition from Aydin-Vector, Newton, Pennsylvania and proposes to negotiate with this firm on that basis. However, should additional firms be identified, they will be considered. Companies who feel they can meet the requirements, based upon the criteria and time frames specified herein, are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement within 30 days of publication of this notice. An affirmative response must include information regarding the required equipment which includes its capabilities, compatibility and availability. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be determined not responsive to this request without further consideration. This synopsis may represent the Government's only notice of this acquisition. See Note 22. (059)
