NASA/GSFC intends to enter into a sole source contract with MasPar Computer Corporation for MAINTENANCE OF THE MASPAR CLUSTER. This acquisition will be done pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1)--only one responsible source. MasPar Corporation is located in Bethesda, MD. The MasPar cluster includes: one MP-1208; two MP1204 systems; one MP2216 system; one 41/42 Series disk Array Channel Interface; one Interface cable; one 41 Series Array cabinet w/8 disks; one 41 Series 8 to 16 disk upgrade; one parity disk system for 8 disks; one parity disk system upgrade for 16 disks; four MPIOC Channel Interface Controller; four 32MB IORAM Modules; four HiPPI I/O Interface; eight 15 meter HiPPI Cables; one NetStar HiPPI Switch; one MasPar Fortran Compiler-16K; one Parallel Disk Software license; one MPIPL-Image Processing Library-16K; one MPML-Math Library 16K; one MPVAST2; one MasPar MPPE User License. The MasPar cluster is a state-of-the-art, unique massively parallel processing system. Only MasPar has access to the proprietary low-level device driver source code which will be necessary to correct any hardware and/or software bugs that will appear in this research machine configuration. The maintenance of the above items is also proprietary to MasPar Computer Corporation. Therefore, no other company can provide the required integration and support. All responsible sources may respond to this synopsis by submitting a written narrative statement of capability, including detailed technical informaiton and other technical literature, demonstrating the ability to meet the requirement.
