services to furnish complete construction documents(Plans &
Specifications) and construction period services to replace panic
hardware in building #1, at the VA Medical Center, Gainesville, FL
32608. The project includes replacement of existing corridor firedoor
hardware with ''collapsible'' type slim profile panic hardware. The A/E
firm selected will be required to perform all necessary site survey
work, such as verifying record drawings and existing asbestos survey
reports. The A/E firm selected will be required to retain a Certified
Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to provide expertise in all aspects of
assessing, abating, monitoring, and making recommendations concerning
asbestos within the project scope of work. Firms should have the
capability of producing construction drawings on a computer-aided
drafting and design (CADD) system and furnish VA with either 5 1/4'' or
3 1/2'' Diskettes containing such drawings at construction completion.
CADD system shall be compatible with Autocad Release 12 software.
Selection will be based upon recent specialized experience,
professional capacity to accomplish work, professional qualifications
of staff and consultants assigned to project. Estimated construction
cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Consideration is
limited to emerging small business concerns within a 150 mile radius of
Gainesville, FL. Firms desiring consideration should submit SF 254's
and SF255's by close of business 04/07/95. This is not a request for
proposal. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 8712.
