EXT. 2237; John A. Adair, Contracting Officer, 805-277-3900 EXT. 2230.
This modification replaces in its entirety the text of the
advertisement published in the Commerce Business Daily (CBD) issue of
13 Jan 95. Following is the corrected text: The Air Force Flight Test
Center (AFFTC), Advanced Range Instrumentation Aircraft (ARIA) has a
requirement for an airborne voice and data communications system
compatible with the Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Follow On (UFO)
satellite system. This system must be capable of supporting secure and
non-secure duplex communications compatible with MIL-STD-181, 5 and 25
Khz dedicated channels; MIL-STD-182, 5 Khz DAMA channels; and
MIL-STD-183, 25 Khz DAMA channels. This system will replace a current
system consisting of a Motorola LST-5B/C and associated accessories,
which do not currently support the above listed Military Standard DAMA
waveforms. The new system shall be fully National Security Agency
(NSA) and Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certified. The
system equipment must be capable of operating normally in an airborne
environment and consist of modular components which will be mounted
into standard 19'' equipment racks. The radio and all accessories shall
be remote controllable from a radio operator's console located
elsewhere on the aircraft. The entire system, less remote control
hardware, shall not exceed 14'' in height and 18'' in depth. The system
shall operate in both Line of Sight (LOS) and Satellite Communications
(SATCOM) modes. The system shall support AF, FM, and SBPSK modulation
formats. The system shall be a 200 watt system and include a receive
preamplifier. Existing Motorola accesories available for integration
into the new system to meet the above requirements include the
following components: LST-5B/C Lightweight Satellite Transceiver with
LSRU-100 Remote Control Unit, AN/CSZ-1A Sunburst Processor, AM-7175 UHF
Power Amp and PTPC-100/PTPE-101 Preamplifier/Control Unit with PTRA-200
Remote Control Unit, and LSTA-101/PDFA-101 Shocktray/Filter Assembly
mounted on rack slides. The contractor may propose replacing the entire
Motorola system with one of their own or integrating available Motorola
accessories with their own components to meet the above system
requirements. In either case, the contractor shall be responsible for
providing complete documentation for the system provided. Training of
operations and maintenance personnel on the installation, operation,
maintenance and removal of the new system components will be required.
The contractor shall have a Depot level capability in place to support
maintenance of the system components. Bid Issue Date: 22 Mar 95. All
responsible sources may request, in writing, a copy of the
solicitation. Requests for the solicitation may be forwarded either by
mail or by telefax to 805-258-9676 or 805-277-0570. Telephone requests
to be placed on the mailing list will not be honored. (0061) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0283 19950303\58-0001.SOL)
