Guard intends to place a delivery order against GSA Contract
#GSOOK94AGS5664 on a sole source basis for the upgrade of a Sequent
mini computer (S2000/450) to operate as the development and backup
suite for the Law Enforcement Information System (LEIS). This upgrade
is necessary to obtain sufficient memory and disk capacity to enable
the Sequent 2000/450 to run on a 24 hour basis in emergency situations
as the primary operational suite. This Sequent upgrade is believed to
be the only reasonable and cost-effective solution. The alternative is
to buy a new minicomputer with a UNIX operating system for the LEIS at
the Operations Systems Center (OSC) in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
This acquisition is for the following: (1) 192 MB Memory Expansion
Board, (1) 64 MB Memory Controller, (1) 12-slot, 3.5'' PBAY, (1)
QCW-CTLR-07 Wide SCCI Controller, (1) CBL-0750-QP 7.5M cable, (4) 4.5GB
Disk Drive for EXP-PBAY-03 and (2) DSL-LPTP-01 Layrd product for disk,
(2) TPU-4mml-02 4mm DAT Tape Drive and (2) TPU-4MTP-21 Layered product
for DDS-2, 1 COMM-1002-30 Sequent Volume Manager for /4x0, (4)
PRO-0085-00 Dual 50Mhz 60486 CPU and corresponding System Installation.
The government requires delivery within 30 days after contract award.
Other firms who can furnish this equipment at prices, terms and
conditions equal to or better than those which appear in the GSA
Schedule, are invited to submit clear and convincing data
substantiating their capability to furnish the entire requirement. This
information, including GSA Schedule Contract, if applicable, and firm
pricing information, must be received within 15 days after publication
of this notice. Vendors failing to provide complete information for an
accurate comparison against the above referenced schedule contract will
not be considered. All responses from responsible sources will be fully
considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis, the
Contracting Officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued.
If no affirmative written responses, which clearly demonstrate the
existence of comparable alternative sources, are received within 15
days after publication of this notice, a delivery order will be placed
with Ogden against their GSA Schedule contract. All responses must be
